Overview

This year, the L'Oreal Brandstorm competition challenged us to transform the male beauty and care landscape by developing innovative devices, products, or services that address unmet needs and push past traditional boundaries. We were pushed to harness advanced technologies—including digital tools, augmented reality, and generative AI—to create solutions that are both transformative and forward-thinking.

 

In addition, designs must embrace inclusivity, catering to the diverse requirements of all men, while also incorporating sustainable practices that promote a responsible and environmentally conscious future.

Solution

As manscaping and genderless beauty continue to rise, the current market offerings are not keeping pace.

 

Existing products lack the wearability, scientific validation, and convenience that modern consumers demand, while also falling short on sustainability.

 

They often fail to provide real-time feedback and comprehensive insights into overall skin health, and many are priced too high.

  • Design a skincare system and product that is accessible without compromising on quality or environmental responsibility, effectively bridging the gap between premium innovation and everyday affordability

  • Smart hydration tracking shaver that provides AI-powered insights to help users shave comfortably and smart

  • Foster sustainability through a blade replacement system and using premium, bio-degradable materials

  • Developed financial analytics and market insights using Excel to calculate net income projections and assess market size
